A Whole Lot of Whole Foods

February 23, 2009

I hope everyone is having a great day so far! I had a really good day at work today.  It was nice to see my students after having one week off.

After work I went for a quick run:
Here are my stats:
Duration: 30 minutes 6 seconds (avg pace = 8:36/mile)
Distance: 3.5 miles
Max Hr: 172 (89% of max)
Avg Hr: 158 (81% of max)
Calories burned: 291

Last week I received a great package in the mail! I was so excited to receive this, not just because of the contents,  but also because of who it was from!

Angela from Oh She Glows sent me a package with some amazing Honest Food bars! I was so excited for this because they are not sold here.  Before Christmas I even emailed Honest Foods to see if there were any retailers here but no such luck.  Not only was I excited for the bars but because Ange is a best friend of mine. We’ve been friends since first year Uni back in 2001!  I was a bridesmaid in her fabulous wedding back in August last year.  She’ll be standing up for me in my wedding this summer!

Anyways, back to the goods!

Straight away I tried the Choco P’nut Butter… and ooooh my goodness was it ever great!

I mentioned in this mornings post that Steve and I went to London last week! We had such an amazing time.  We were only there for two short days which wasn’t enough to see everything but we did get to see a lot… including:

whole-foods

Oh yes I did!

I got to go on my first trip to Whole Foods! I was totally in my element. In my hand are some Larabars! Yum! Larabars are very hit & miss here. You can only get them in a select few stores and even then there are maybe 2-3 flavours to choose from. I was estactic to see all the choice at this market!

Here I am leaving the store (I didn’t want to leave!), with my bag of goodies:

…. this is what I bought! Certainly not enough, but hey – I needed to have some self- control.

Here you see:  6 Larabars (2 cashew cookie – my fav! 1 coconut cream pie,  1 banana cookie, 1 key lime pie, and 1 pistachio). We also have some “Seeds of Change” Organic dark chocolate, and Maple Walnut flavoured coffee).

And, just incase you want to know what London actually looks like (and not just the Whole Foods) here are a couple more photos for your viewing pleasure:

The Queen asked me to stay for tea, but I told her I wanted to spend the time in London with Hubby-to-be :P

Alright,  how about some food for today!!

After my great breakfast this morning I had an apple around 11:15am:

After work before I went on my run I had a snack:

Half of a Cran Lemon Zest Honest Foods bar (it was so good- so much flavour!).
Along with a plum and a chamomile tea.

Steve cooked dinner tonight while I was chatting with my Mom via Skype. I had such a nice chat with her.  Lots of wedding things were discussed.  She’s such a great “Mother of the Bride” !!! She’s been helping out so much with the wedding since I am trying to plan my Canadian wedding from England!

The feature of dinner was:

BirdsEye Chicken Kievs. We’ve never had these before but they were quite good! I love me some good pesto and mozza cheese as well.

On the side I had a salad and a small baked potato with soy yogurt on top (instead of sour cream).

Check out the greatness:

Well, that’s me done for the day.

If you made it this far, amazing!

Have a good night and see you tomorrow!!!

Lucky girl getting to try those bars!
Did you end up getting a chance to eat at Whole Foods upstairs?
I just sent you a Foodbuzz invitation with an email with info and a personal message–let me know if you get it and if it is helpful to you!
Hope you had a great day :)

What a great package from home! And sounds like a fun trip to London…especially seeing as Whole Foods was involved!

    Have a great night! :)

I am so jealous! I have always wanted to explore London but have only been there for layovers to other countries. Put up more pics and say hi to the queen for me! Oh and I’m glad you had self-control in the Whole Foods market. I always spend WAY too much $ there.

What a great set of pictures. London looks beautiful- glad you enjoyed it almost as much as Whole Foods. Aren’t moms the best? I don’t know what I would do without mine in all this wedding nonsense! Are all your vendors in Canada? Most of all- did you get your dress there?

OMG I want to go to Whole Foods! Yum! I can spend ages in grocery stores too, but Rowan thinks I’m insane, haha. Yay London! I’m glad you had a good time!
