Last weekend we all flew to Ireland for a few days away. We decided to skip Dublin and see what else Ireland had to offer along the coast and stayed in a city with character called Galway.
We were blown away by the beauty of the country.
We visited the Cliffs of Moher and were blown away (quite literally this time!) by the winds off the ocean. It was a stunning view and one that is a must see if you ever visit Ireland.
Galway is a fun city that is buzzing with students who attend the University there. It’s quaint and the hotel that we stayed in was in the middle of all the action.
The buildings are the best part!
Everywhere you go you see COLOUR. Hot pink, lime green, yellow, blue and red. Talk about setting the mood of a country with bright colours.
And the castles. Oh the castles!!!
wait for it…
This was by far the most impressive castle I have ever seen. We were in awe!
I could have stayed forever. I could have had tea there, got married (again) there and maybe even be convinced to live there. Maybe.
We stayed and played for a while, taking pictures of everything and making sure to get some great family shots. What a background.
Driving along the countryside was an adventure to say the least. The speed limit is 100km/hr in most areas and the roads are tiny. We felt like we were on a rollercoaster most of the way. People in Ireland must be use to the driving!! We were not. But we still managed to see the beautiful sights and stop for pictures along the way.
And then on our last day on our way to the airport we made a pit stop in a little town called Mayo and came across the most stunning hotel I have ever seen.
Yes, a hotel!
For the cheap rate of €350 per night you can stay in this castle that has been converted into a hotel.
What a deal eh?
It was amazing inside!
We had a great time!
