Hi everyone!  How was your weekend?

We had a great one – and still have another day off tomorrow!!

This last week i’ve really taken the challenges and ran with them.  Let’s just say while my parents were here I indulged quite a lot and didn’t work out as much as I wanted to.  They were more than willing to watch Sophie for me but I just didn’t find the time like I should have.  I only went out a few times, so this week I wanted to jump back into it and went running three times.  Steve and I also went on a couple of walks with Sophie.

This weekend we had swimming lessons..

Sophie went into a sandbox for the first time and really had no idea what to make of it haha.

All in all it was a really good weekend!  I also went out running all weekend.  I’m feeling more and more like myself these days!  It feels great to be getting more confident with it again.

Week 6 was a good one for me. The highlights were setting my goals for the next six weeks and getting together with some friends who we hadn’t seen in over a month.

I’ve decided for the month of May to keep track of my workouts.  This will not only keep me motivated (writing things down always does that for me), but maybe even motivate someone who reads this blog.  I won’t go into a great deal of detail for each workout but I am more than happy to elaborate on any workout that you want.  I’ll be keeping track of it all on my new page called MAY EXERCISEHop on over there to check it out!!  I will update that page everyday even if I don’t do a regular blog post so check back as often as you want.  I’m excited!

On Friday night Steve and I made a spontaneous decision to call his Mom and ask her to babysit while we went out with a couple of friends.  We really had no plans, and I knew that I wanted to see them since it had been so long so we went out for a couple of drinks and dinner (curry!) and had a really great night!

Can’t wait to see what Ruby has in store for us for week 7 starting tomorrow!

See you this week!

It sounds like you’ve made great use of your long weekend! Your May exercise goal sounds great, and I’m guessing you have the right weather for it in the UK at the moment. It must be nice to start re-claiming some time to yourself (or as a couple) now that Sophie is just that little bit older :)

The weather is great here! Things are getting much easier now that Sophie is getting older (as in- she’s not a newborn). I also don’t feel the mommy guilt as much for taking some time for myself (re: working out) and my husband. I know that a couple of hours with her Grandma is just fine and some time with her Dad while I go workout is really good for her. She doesn’t hate me for it! ;)

Isn’t it AMAZING what getting into exercise & healthy food options has done for your outlook?? I mean, I was thinking about this just this weekend: how I still have THE worst sleeper in the history of all babies (even all my ‘bad sleeper’ online friends now have babies that STTN, ha! Amber wins!!) I no longer am obsessed with her/my sleep! I feel much more centered, confident, and happy now I am taking care of myself more. Just like you stated in one of the emails before this challenge: when mama’s happy, everyone’s happy.

I’m definitely stepping it up a notch in May also! Goal: elliptical/run 3 x a week slowly building to 30 min run + 2 x body pump or similar class + additional abs/core once a week. AWESOME!!!
