just us weekends

Thank you for your messages of congrats on my last post. I’ve received many tweets, facebook congrats and support on here. It’s an exciting road to be on to bring a little sister or brother into the world for Sophie and I can’t wait to see what the rest of the year and next has in store for our family of four!  A friend of mine said it perfectly on facebook: “Going from one to two has its challenges but it sure is amazing watching your kids love each other.”  I cannot wait to see that sibling bond form and of course see all the trouble they will get into in years to come.  Maybe this is where my Mom’s famous words wait until you’re a mom someday come into play.  haha.. but we weren’t THAT bad were we Mom?

Sophie and I have been spending a bit more time together (just us) because Steve has been working overtime the past couple of weekends.

One of our favourite things to do besides play in the park, finger paint, ride bikes, bake cookies (and then eat them) is go out to the field by our house and literally just run around with a ball and pick a flower or two.

It’s a mere hop, skip and a jump away and is an endless space for her to run without getting into too much trouble.

I cannot wait for the nicer weather to come and the farmers markets to open so we can spend some time this summer strawberry picking and going for walks.  The weather here is so changeable so when we get a good day we need to take it and run with it!

See those clouds?  They look threatening but were gone within minutes!
