the first time
The weather has been so beautiful here in England and it was the first time yesterday that we (as a family) went out to the park this summer to have a picnic. As I said in my last post, Steve has been working the past couple of weekends so we haven’t had much of a chance for this and as the weather has only really shaped up this past week we knew we could not pass up the chance!
It was also the first time (in a long time) that little Miss would keep her hat on. She actually asked to wear it. A first!
A play on the slide and monkey bars before lunch, and long walks along the boardwalk followed lunch..
Last night was the first time that Sophie stayed at her Grandma and Grandpas house. Not for any special reason other than they have been wanting her to stay over for ages and finally our schedules met for a little spoil time. Sophie is at her Grandmas three days a week when she isn’t at nursery so she definitely is used to being there. I am sure everything went fine overnight as we haven’t had a phone call yet! Steve and I went out with some friends last night for dinner and drinks and slept in until 9 this morning for the first time in probably a year? Funnily enough though I feel more tired than usual now. I guess I had a bit too much sleep!
Steve has been working on staining a bunch of wood for a playhouse him and his Dad are building for Sophie’s 2nd birthday. I can’t wait to show you the finished product!!
And me? I went shopping this morning and admired my strawberry plants that I planted outside for the first time. Look how well they are doing!!
I have a feeling a certain almost-two-year-old will take care of those for me ![]()
We are off to a BBQ at Steve’s Dads this afternoon! For the first time this summer!
Enjoy your Sunday!

Aww love this! Family park time is so much fun. Avery loves the park and watching him play and playing with him is priceless, and free!
Soon (hopefully like within hours haha) Avery will spend his first time over at my parents house while I have a baby. I’m a little nervous even though I know he’ll be fine….it’s just hard to let go!
Yes we definitely wanted Sophie to be okay with staying overnight and she likely will a few more times before baby comes in October!
I can’t wait to hear your news on your little boy!
Is that Chase Water in Brownhills? Thats like ten mins from my house
Overnight visits are the best! I love her little jumper and your strawberries look delicious.
What a wonderful family day! And I can’t get over how much our kiddos keep growing. At least they just get cuter and cuter in the process.
